A few specific fixes for thewillowsflorist.com

The Willows Florist · Newport · website rebuild

I rebuild small-business sites in my spare time when I can see they are leaving conversions on the table. Three things stood out on mobile in ten minutes on the live thewillowsflorist.com home page. Three findings below, then a working rebuild you can click through.

Three findings

What I noticed on the live site in ten minutes on a phone.

A walk-through of thewillowsflorist.com captured 18 May 2026. None of these require new copy from you. Each one is a fix to what is already there.

01

The word "Fuberal" sits in the browser-tab title and on every Google result.

What I saw
The document title on thewillowsflorist.com reads, verbatim, "The Willows Florist - Langstone, Newport - The Willows Florist by Mandy Bellamore. Specialising in Fuberal, Wedding, Bouquets and Silk/Dried flowers. Based in Newport." It is 194 characters long, and the word funeral is misspelt "Fuberal". That string is what shows in the browser tab, what shows on every Google blue link, and what the email-preview generators read when someone shares the link. The most-visible single sentence on the entire site is wrong.
The rebuild
After rebuild: a 58-character title ("The Willows Florist · Newport · Weddings, Funerals, Bouquets"), a real 155-character meta description, and an og:image generated from the wedding-bouquet portfolio so shares preview cleanly. The typo never reappears because the title is built from a single foundingDate-driven template, not typed into a Beaver Builder field.
02

26 five-star Google reviews and a 2023 wedding-florist award badge, both buried.

What I saw
The Google Business profile carries a 5.0 average across 26 reviews, and a "Best Wedding Florist 2023 Regional Winner" badge is hosted on the site itself (image dated November 2023). Neither appears on the home page, neither appears on the wedding-flowers page, and neither appears anywhere a bride deciding between Newport florists would land. A first-time visitor sees no social proof at all in the first viewport. The strongest credibility signals the business has are present on the server but never surfaced.
The rebuild
After rebuild: a heritage strip directly under the hero ("26 five-star Google reviews · 2023 wedding-florist award · since 2018"), the award badge sized properly in the heritage section, and two real Google-review pull-quotes (Pauline Whiting on the funeral spray, Megan Stacey on same-day delivery). The selling points stop being a hidden folder of images and start being the second-strongest scroll moment on the page.
03

Four Google-Font families, six full-resolution photos, zero schema on a phone.

What I saw
The current home page pulls four separate Google-Font families in the head (Open Sans, Ephesis, Playfair Display, Lato), loads six images eagerly without lazy-loading, and ships two of them (the_willows_florist2.jpg at 979 KB and the_willows_florist9.jpg at 1.06 MB) at full resolution. The combined image weight on the home page sits at roughly 2.3 MB before any optimisation. There is no LocalBusiness JSON-LD, no Product schema on the shop, no meta description and no og:image. Google can index the URL but cannot see the shop as a Newport business with opening hours, a delivery radius and a phone number.
The rebuild
After rebuild: one display font (Lora), one body font (Inter), images served at the size they render in and lazy-loaded below the fold, a hero under 240 KB. Full Organization plus LocalBusiness plus Service plus FAQPage schema with the Langstone postcode, the 07850 number, the six named delivery towns and the 5.0 review average. Estimated mobile LCP drops from roughly four seconds to under one and a half, and the long-tail "florist near Caerleon" queries route here instead of to a neighbour.

Pricing

One number for the rebuild, one for the care, one for the bot.

£2,000 Fixed for the rebuild. One-off. £150 Per month for hosting and ongoing care. £50 Optional. Embedded chatbot trained on FAQs.

The close

If the proposal lands, reply with two or three 20-minute slots in the next ten days for a video call. I take on three Newport builds this quarter, and first confirmed wins the slot. If I do not hear back by 28 May, the proposal site comes down.
